Spocco Square is the place where Nintendo Switch Sports takes place. It is a new location. There are currently 8 main buildings in Spocco Square, each containing one of the 8 current sports in Nintendo Switch Sports.
According to an intermission tip, the area used to be a port, presumably that of the nearby unnamed city.
Sport Locations[]
Badminton takes place outdoors, in a park made from old freight containers, downstairs from Spocco Square's suspension railway station. Cafe Buttons and the main outlet of Ice Cream Volley are near the court.
Volleyball takes place on the 2nd floor above an art gallery, near humhum Cafe and humhum books.
Chambara takes place in a platform above a pool. The 1st floor next to the pool has seating areas and a bakery. The intermission tips mention that synchronized swimming events take place when the chambara platform is taken down for maintenance, though such events are not seen in-game. Hotel Spocco is treated as part of the chambara warehouse, featuring "25 luxurious rooms" with "soft beds".[1]
Bowling takes place in a combined bowling alley and shopping mall. Among the mall's known stores, are a T-shirt shop, the southwest BTNS furniture store and Mount & Co. camping gear and boat store, and the second outlet of Ice Cream Volley in the northeast (Visible during the pre-match presentation). The mall's sign during "Searching for Players…" appears to say "Atoz Mall", though heavy asset compression make it hard to tell.
Soccer takes place at the Soccer Area, which contains a large outdoor 4-on-4 field (with a roofed spectator stand), a smaller indoor field for 1-on-1 and Free Practice, and a library containing a "huge sports-history section".
Tennis takes place outdoors on 3 courts, one each for grass, clay, and hardcourt. The intermission tips mention drones picking balls up from the small ponds next to the courts, and that doubles clones are generated by the courts' hologram projectors. The central area between the courts hosts the Lotus Juice Bar, described as having a "great selection of smoothies and healthy soups".
Golf takes place on various nearby islands, accessible by boat. Some holes contain Cafe Buttons food trucks, humhum cafe and humhum books stores, and a 64 Style Cube.
Basketball is held in the circular building below the Golf building and next to the Tennis courts. Not much is known about the rest of the basketball building apart from that the court is on the upstairs outdoor area, where all of the games take place.
The Central Plaza (referred to as Park Center on its mid-roof sign) located right north of Chambara, is said to host a reception area and locker rooms, though these are not seen in-game.
The immediate Spocco Square area is served by a red shuttle bus that goes between the venues every 15 minutes. It (and a small handful of cars) can often be spotted driving past when chambara matches start. Vehicles on the southern road drive on the right.
